Photomontages & Book Cover Designs

This is just a bit more work that I did for another module in Uni this year.  Basically, I had to combine a minimum of three of my own images too create a photomontage that could ultimately be used as a book cover.  Some of these, I had a very clear idea about but I don't even know where two of the other designs came from.  Hope you like them anyways!

And if you read the blurbs on the back of the book, I was writing to fill the page so it is likely not too make any sense at all.

Food Photography

I haven't updated this in blog in a while but heres some recent work I did for my first assignment due in tomorrow.  I had to do some photography in the style of a certain photographer so the photographer I chose to adapt the style of was David Loftus.  So these are the images that I took.

Playing With Fire

Haven't done much night photography recently so thought as we had a fire in our back garden that I'd mess around with exposures, apertures and see what sort of shots I could get.  These are some of the pictures that I got but another twelve photographs will be on my Flickr as soon as they let me log into my account.  Happy with some of the pictures, so hope you like them!

Evening Post Work Experience

Back in July, I managed to get a work placement in the South Wales Evening Post which covers Llanelli, Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea.  Learnt a lot during my work experience to be fair and even managed to get one picture printed in the paper which was class.  Hears some of the work that I did during my work experience.

Swansea Continental Market

On the last day of my work experience, I was asked to go out and find a story and if it was good enough quality to go in the paper, it would get printed.  In fairness, it wasn't quite the sort of shot they were looking for (too much going on in background and too much space for press photography) but the main photo editor Steve said he'd let it go in on Monday's paper.  So happy days, been published in the local paper!

Retiring Teacher At Cwmbwrla Primary School

On this shoot, I went out with one of the other photographers who worked for Evening Post as they were asked to get photographs of leaving Cymbwrla school as she was retiring.  These were the two best images I got at this shoot.

Clyne Golf Club

This was a photograph taken at 'Clyne Golf Club' for their promotion on supporting our troops, offering them a free membership at their club.

Weight Loss, Dragon Hotel Gym

This photograph was taken at the gym in the bottom of the Dragon Hotel in Swansea.  The story was about this girl pictured who lost 2st in their gym before going on holiday to Spain and this was the photograph I got of her.

Morriston Chapel Coin Story

This photo was taken at Morriston Chapel.  The story was to do with a coin that they believed to be placed underneath the top of the steeple by a little girl back in the 18th century; while they're doing up the church, they're gonna check if the legends true and if a coin is really there (as far as I can remember).

U.A.E. Light Trails

Thought I'd posted these back in January when I went out to U.A.E. for Christmas holidays but looks like I didn't; these photographs were taken in Abu Dhabi and the second one in Dubai so hope you like them.  Bit old but haven't posted night for a while.

Bakewell, Sheffield

Went up to Bakewell, Sheffield a few weeks ago with mates from Uni, few of them live there.  Went to check out the country bits and got a few shots on the cliffs up there as well as at a bridge jump into the river running through.  Class trip, hope you like the pictures!

Aston Villa Protest

Went to Villa Park today to photograph the protests about the possibility of former Birmingham manager, Alex McLeish, getting the managerial job at Aston Villa.  Many quality chants were sung which I'm sure will ring around the stadium next season if his appointment is confirmed in the next few days (as is heavily suggested by Sky Sports and BBC).

Anyway, these are some of my images from the protest.  I have got another 100+ photographs which I will put on my flickr account by tomorrow. Hope you like them!

Environmental Portraits: Birmingham Market

Long time no upload so thought I would add some of the photography that I took at the market the other day for a photography project.  I had to take some environmental portraits so I thought I would contrast the variety of people who sell what they sell in the markets, hope you like them!
